Well, guys!
It’s time to tell you in details about my model experiment.
The main
aim of this project was the idea to proof that to become a model you don’t have
to be skinny, tall or with a Barbie face.
Let’s start
from the meaning of the word “model”. So, according to Wikipedia: “A model (from
Middle French modèle//aew), sometimes called a mannequin, is a person who is
employed to display, advertise and promote commercial products (notably fashion
clothing) or to serve as a subject of works of art” And there’s nothing was said
about looking somehow special. So, in few words, model is a person who knows
how to promote and show the product to rise up the selling.
And as my
six years of experience says, for promoting yourself as a model you need some good
pictures. Your pictures can’t be taken on iPhone and you must have some
impressive look. Not necessary to get naked and show your tits as many girls
do. It attracts men but for a short time. Remember, you are not the only person
who can show the body to public. And everyone has the same body as you do: two legs,
two hands, one head and etc. To impress people - be special, show yourself the
way you are.
So, to create
an amazing look you need some make-up
and hair done. Thanks youtube for existing! They have a lot of make-up and hair
styling tutorials there so you can always try something new and make an accent
on your “strong” parts, like beautiful eyes or lips.
Secondly,
to finish your look you will need some clothes and accessories. If you can’t
find anything at home that will match your look you can always create it by yourself.
Just use your imagination. Once I’ve made a dress from a black plastic roll which
people use to keep their floor clean while painting walls. And that looked
really nice and took only 10 min from me.
Oh, and one
of the most important points – is a photographer! You have to find your kind of
person who has the same understanding of beauty or even better than you do. So,
once I’ve worked with a very nice photographer but after postproduction I saw
some horrible pictures I could post and share anywhere. Why? The color balance
was nice; everything looked great but not my face. This guy just thought that it’s really
artistic to take pictures from a very strange angle so I even didn’t look
myself.
And it’s
the same about posing! You have to find the best poses of showing yourself! Not
sure how to translate it in English but in Russian it’s called “working sides”.
So, you always know if your face/body and etc. looks better from the left or
from the right. You can always try to do posing at home.
And the
last but not the least is regularity you post your pictures with. It should go
one after another like “Boom! Boom! Boom!”, but not once a year or once a month.
Hope, this
will help you in starting your model career. Go for it if you want so! And
remember, we are all beautiful and different! Be someone special but not somebody’s clone!
Take care
and good luck in your life journey!
With love,
Valentina!
